Korean prospect Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk will be DRX’s fifth member at Red Bull Home Ground Tokyo, it has been revealed.
JAPAN – Cho “Flashback” Min-hyuk will play for DRX at the upcoming Red Bull Home Ground Tokyo event, coming back as the team’s fifth player after helping them secure a runners-up finish at the TEN VALORANT Global Invitational.
The DRX academy player will once again step into the shoes of Goo “Rb” Sang-min who chose to take a break to unwind following a bustling 2023 season that took them from São Paulo and Seoul to Tokyo and Los Angeles. In addition to Flashback, Jung “Foxy9” Jae-sung will continue to play in the starting roster instead of Kim “Zest” Gi-seok.
Flashback had his big break in August when he was signed by the Korean organization to their academy roster, DRX Prospects. While other Prospects members such as Kang “BeYN” Ha-bin and Kim “miKa” Jae-ryun were loaned to All Gamers for competition in the Chinese circuit, Flashback had the chance to play with the main DRX roster in the OFF//SEASON beginning with the TEN VALORANT Global Invitational.
He managed to impress playing against Chinese powerhouse EDward Gaming, delivering a team-high 61 kills across three maps played as Viper despite having Jett as his most picked role in ranked plays. While that tournament might not have carried the same weight as the VCT Pacific League or other international events, it certainly left a lasting impression on Flashback’s career prospects whether that path leads him to continue with DRX or pursue other opportunities.
Red Bull Home Ground Tokyo will truly test the 17-year-old’s mettle under the DRX banner as the event features some of the world’s top teams, including FNATIC, 100 Thieves, FUT Esports, as well as Cloud9. Three hometown favorites in ZETA DIVISION, SCARZ, and FENNEL will also be in attendance.
DRX have been drawn against SCARZ in the opening round, scheduled for November 3 at 2 PM SGT.
With Flashback filling in for Rb, DRX will attend the event with:
- 🇰🇷 Kim “stax” Gu-taek
- 🇰🇷 Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul
- 🇰🇷 Kim “MaKo” Myeong-kwan

- 🇰🇷 Pyeon “termi” Seon-ho (Head coach)
