VALO2ASIA Awards 2025 - Voting System
Here’s how the voting system works for The VALO2ASIA Awards 2025, brought to you by Pulsar.
This page breaks down how voting works across all categories of the VALO2ASIA Awards 2025. Our goal is to maintain clarity and transparency, ensuring there is no confusion around how the final results are produced.
The final award results are determined entirely by our Panel of Judges, 49 members selected from across the Asia-Pacific region. The panel size has gradually increased each year by design. More judges contribute to a healthier voting average, reducing the impact of extreme picks and encouraging a more reflective end result.
We only extend invitations to individuals who consistently follow the VALORANT scene, understand performance narratives throughout the season, and are capable of voting responsibly. Participation is strictly by invitation only.
Every judge participates with neutrality, regardless of background, personal connections, or regional affiliation. The panel consists of broadcast talent, media members, former professionals, and our partners at Pulsar. VALO2ASIA as a media holds only one vote within the panel, represented by Editor-in-Chief Juandi.
To streamline the nomination process, judges received a pre-curated list of eligible players. They may submit names outside the list, but are advised to do so only if they genuinely believe the player meets the criteria, as unlisted picks are less likely to qualify. This list was created after VALORANT Champions Paris, featuring likely candidates such as international participants, regional champions, and outstanding performers. For the flagship Top 20 category, 69 players were shortlisted as potential nominees.
When casting their votes, judges are asked to evaluate players based on their performance across the entire season, with an emphasis on solely the VALORANT Champions Tour circuit, consistency at the highest level, and impact on their team, rather than popularity or a single standout series.
Judges then submit their personal Top 20 rankings via Google Forms. Each placement is assigned a score. #20 earns 1 point, #19 earns 2 points, and so on until #1 earns 20 points. The same scoring format is applied across all categories. In the event of a tie, we apply a structured tiebreak system that takes into account factors such as the number of higher placements a player received on individual ballots. The goal is always to reward stronger overall support rather than a single extreme vote.
To ensure fairness and quality of evaluation, Game Changers and Challengers voting is optional. Not every judge actively follows these circuits, and we believe every vote must come from informed and intentional decision-making.
All categories except People’s Choice are decided entirely by the judging panel. The People’s Choice award is decided 100% by public voting and is not influenced by the panel. The winner of this category stands alongside the panel-decided awards as part of the overall story of the 2025 season.
For the People’s Choice category, fans can vote once per day during the voting period. At the end of the window, the player with the highest total number of valid votes will be named the People’s Choice winner.
All submitted ballots go through multiple rounds of verification carried out by an impartial team with no conflict of interest, using both manual and automated checks. Judges may request access to the raw tally for transparency purposes, but the identities of individual voters will remain anonymous to avoid bias, outside pressure, or undue influence.
While Pulsar presents the VALO2ASIA Awards 2025, the voting process is run entirely by VALO2ASIA. The sponsor has no involvement in how the shortlist is built, how judges vote, or how the final results are decided, beyond the individual representatives who participate as judges in their personal capacity.
Tiebreaker(s) for Top 20 APAC Players
- If players are tied on points in the scoring, the number of individual votes (judges) cast is used as a tie-breaker.
- The median ranking from all judges will be used as the second tiebreaker. The median is determined by arranging the player’s scores in ascending order and finding the middle value. If there’s an even number of scores, the median is the average of the two middle numbers. The player with the higher median ranking will take precedence in the event of a tie.
