Adding a fourth nationality to the team with the signing of famed Thai streamer Patiphan “cgrs” Posri, Paper Rex are set to represent APAC in the kickoff tournament next year in São Paulo, Brazil.
SINGAPORE – Patiphan “cgrs” Posri is the final addition to Paper Rex’s VCT Pacific roster, the organization announced today, unveiling the 26-year-old Thai as their sixth member. Cgrs comes as PRX’s first signing in a span of the last 12 months, following Jing Jie “Jinggg” Wang’s signing in September of last year.
In a statement to VALO2ASIA, Paper Rex’s Chief Gaming Officer Harley “dsn” Örwall touted the newest signing as “one of Southeast Asia’s most prominent FPS players for a long time” who checks all the boxes for “a player who would bring skill and experience to the team and also has a personality that meshes well with our fun-loving group of players.
“With an uncanny knack for mastering all the FPS games he plays, we’re excited to see him in professional VALORANT, representing Paper Rex in the VCT Pacific League.” he concluded.
Having made his name across multiple titles, cgrs has been turning heads as one of the best all-round FPS players in Asia. Throughout the last seven years of his competitive career, he has plied his trade for various renowned organizations in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, PUBG, Apex Legends, and Overwatch, during which he represented the iconic Made in Thailand (MiTH) brand in the first three FPS titles.
In Valve’s first-person shooter title where he clocked most of his competitive days, cgrs most notably represented SEA in the Asia Minor Championship for PGL Major Kraków 2017 alongside Kititkawin “PTC” Rattanasukol, cbbk, qqGod, and Leaf under the 7642Alright banner. He will be hoping to start a new chapter of his career with Paper Rex after dedicating himself to full-time streaming and content creation for the past several years.
It also sees cgrs return to action after initially appearing on the radar in VCT Thailand Stage 2 Challengers with stream team Z11, and most recently with XERXIA as one of their three stand-ins for TEC Challenger Series 9.
Going forward, the Singapore-based organization intends to have him travel with the team for most of the tournaments in their VALORANT OFF//SEASON calendar and next year’s VCT Pacific league.
