Nanda “asteriskk” Rizana and co. will not be donning the Persija jersey in 2023.
INDONESIA – Persija Esports is parting ways with its roster, with the players now having their sights set on VCT-partnered organizations for next year.
The Indonesian team played under Persija Esports since March when the organization signed the BOY WITH LOVE team featuring the likes of former BOOM Esports duo Kevin “Eeyore” Gunawan and Nanda “asteriskk” Rizana, former XcN Gaming duo Vicky “Flynch” Rudyanto and Baskoro Dwi “roseau” Putra, as well as rising star Fikri “famouz” Zaki.
During their time under the Persija tag, the team surprised many in VCT Indonesia Stage 1 Challengers, taking down the likes of Alter Ego and ONIC G to qualify for APAC Stage 1 Challengers as Indonesia’s second seed above the latter team. However, it did not stop there; on their first international appearance, they made it all the way to the playoffs, leaving teams of the level of Bonkers or Made in Thailand.

Unfortunately, PSJ were unable to follow up on that result or reach the same heights in the following split, with the squad only reaching the playoff stage of VCT Indonesia Stage 2 Challengers after suffering defeats to Alter Ego and Bigetron Arctic.
Despite being unable to clinch any trophies during their existence, Persija’s meteoric rise has brought famouz to public attention as a rising prospect from the region who was later loaned to BOOM Esports for their title-winning run in the VCT APAC Last Chance Qualifier, which ultimately led to their qualification for the 2022 VALORANT Champions.

Now, all five players will be on the lookout for a chance to compete at the highest level of VALORANT in the new VCT Pacific league next year. Only Asteriskk and Eeyore have publicly expressed their interest.
Should the players not find a partnered team in time to compete in the kickoff tournament, the next goal in their crosshairs will be to join a team for the VCT Ascension league.
