Alter Ego Celeste, Bren Esports Victress, and Team SMG are some of the highlight names to make it to the playoff stage of the event.
The playoff bracket of VCT Game Changers APAC Open 2 has been set following the conclusion of the knockout stage on Sunday, which saw eight top teams progress to the double-elimination bracket beginning this Thursday.
Very few upsets unfolded, as most of the big names managed to make it through to the playoff stage, with the exception of Nigma Galaxy Female. After being eliminated by Bren Esports Victress, the Filipino-Singaporean side will miss their second VCT Game Changers Playoffs appearance this year.
The team list for the VCT Game Changers APAC Open 2 Playoffs is as follows:
🇹🇭 X10 CRIT Female | 🇸🇬 Team SMG |
🇹🇭 Aresta | 🇵🇭 Bren Esports Victress |
🇮🇩 Alter Ego Celeste | 🇵🇭 ZOL Meraki |
🌏 Orangutan | 🇹🇭 GamDaeng |
Similarly, X10 CRIT Female took BIG SCYTHE out of the equation in the knockout stage. The Indonesians finished in the top 16 on their debut with two former Celeste members in Dhammamitta “margeaux” Marvella and Aulia “Aphrolyn” Putri.
Needless to say, the unbeaten Alter Ego Celeste are the heavy favorites to take the title away and expand their trophy cabinet. They most recently won the VCT Game Changers APAC Open 1 despite the presence of in-game leader Ryona “Tarathiel” Tan. However, X10 CRIT Female will also be present to pose a danger to the Indonesian side after pushing them to the limit in the grand final of the aforementioned tournament.

Following Team SMG’s acquisition of the Renatus White core before the inaugural Open season this year, Bren Esports and Orangutan have now done the same. The former signed the lineup of TC Arise, while the latter assembled the roster from scratch with the combination of South Asian and Southeast Asian players in it.
The action will resume on Thursday, April 7, with all the matches kicking off on four simultaneous streams at 19:00 SGT. There, Alter Ego Celeste, X10 CRIT Female, and Bren Esports Victress all found themselves on the same side of the double-elimination bracket there.
