RRQ have announced that former TALON coach Jovi has been appointed to guide their VALORANT team in 2026.
INDONESIA – Former TALON coach Jovanni “Jovi” Vera has been installed as RRQ’s new head coach, the Indonesian organization announced on Saturday. The 31-year-old coach steps into the role previously held by Marthinus “Ewok” Walt, who recently announced his departure to focus on personal rest and recovery after three seasons with the organization.
Jovi expressed his excitement in joining RRQ, saying, “So excited to be working with these amazing guys! It’s been a blast so far, and it’s only the beginning. Thank you RRQ for trusting me to lead the team!”

Jovi joins RRQ after spending the 2025 VCT season with TALON Esports alongside Hector “FrosT” Rosario. The pair guided TALON to a third-place finish in VCT Pacific, though the team narrowly missed out on a VALORANT Champions Paris slot due to tiebreaker rules. Their year ultimately took a sharp turn when TALON were removed from the VCT/Riot ecosystem for failing to meet operational standards, resulting in the entire VALORANT division being released. FrosT has since been spotted trialing with Global Esports.
The coaching change follows RRQ’s strongest season yet. The Indonesian squad lifted their first-ever trophy by winning VCT Pacific Stage 1 and then secured a runner-up finish in Stage 2. They also made their long-awaited international debut, appearing at both VALORANT Masters Toronto and VALORANT Champions Paris.
Despite not making deep playoff runs internationally, their progress has been widely acknowledged as a breakthrough year. RRQ now look to Jovi to elevate the team further as they aim for consistent results on the global stage.
Though he most recently served as an assistant coach, Jovi brings considerable leadership experience. He previously helmed 100 Thieves in 2022 for a short period of time before moving into the Game Changers circuit, where he coached Evil Geniuses GC in 2023 and FlyQuest RED in 2024. Both teams qualified for the Game Changers Championship under his leadership.
RRQ now have:
- David “xffero” Monangin
- Maksim “Jemkin” Batorov
- Cahya “Monyet” Nugraha
- Bryan “Kushy” Setiawan
- Ngô “crazyguy” Công Anh
- Jovanni “Jovi” Vera (Head coach)
- Evan “Warbirds” Olzem (Assistant coach)
- Rebecca “Rebecca” Wong (Performance coach)
