Riot Games and The Gaming Company has launched the registration process for the second split of VCL MY/SG Split 2, featuring an MYR100,000 prize pool and a coveted Pacific Ascension league spot.
MALAYSIA/SINGAPORE – The dates and registration link for VCL MY/SG Split 2 have been announced by The Gaming Company, taking place from March 2 to June 4 to determine the sole MY/SG representatives for the Pacific Ascension league. The open qualifier on March 2-5 will determine two teams that will advance to the Relegation/Promotion series, where they will join the two bottom-seeded teams from Split 1 to battle for two spots in the main event of VCL MY/SG Split 2 set to run from March 29 to June 4.
The Challengers Qualifiers will take place in two phases, with the first phase being a GSL format bracket. 64 teams will participate in the tournament and will be split into groups of eight. The matches will be best-of-one series, with the exception of the Upper and Lower Bracket Finals, which will be best-of-three series. The top 2 teams from each group will proceed to the second phase of the qualifier. Moving on, the 16 teams that advance will participate in a double-elimination bracket. The matches will be best of 3 series, with the top 2 teams proceeding to the Promotion/Relegation Series.
The Challengers Main Event will consist of the group stage and the playoffs. The Challengers League will feature eight teams, six from Split 1 and two from the Promotion/Relegation Series. The teams will participate in a round-robin tournament, with each team facing each other once in a best-of-three format.
The Challengers Playoffs will be a double elimination bracket tournament featuring six teams. The matches will be best-of-three series, with the exception of the Lower Bracket Finals and the Grand Finals, which will be best-of-five series. The Grand Finals will determine the winner of the VCL MY/SG Split 2 and the region’s representatives for the Ascension league.
