VALORANT Challengers Japan has revealed its full schedule for the 2024 season.
JAPAN – The 2024 schedule for VALORANT Challengers Japan has been revealed by Riot Games. Running from January to July, the tier-two circuit in Japan will mirror the format of the 2023 season, featuring two Splits and a sought-after Ascension spot.
In the first Split, starting with an open qualifier on January 22-24, the top eight teams will progress to the Regular Season (February 2 – March 10). The ensuing round-robin best-of-three stage will see six teams move forward to the playoffs beginning March 12. The finals, held offline, are confirmed for March 30-31 and will be best-of-five showdowns.
The second Split introduces an integration with the in-game Premier system, allowing Premier-qualified teams to join the bottom Split 1 teams in the Advance Stage, offering a chance for promotion or relegation. Further details will be announced at a later date, with the top teams progressing to the Regular Season from May 20 to June 28, following a format similar to the first Split, albeit with heightened stakes as an Ascension spot is up for grabs.
The VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 event is set to take place in September, while the commencement of the 2025 season will be pushed forward to as early as October.
SCARZ, having emerged victorious in VCL Japan Split 2 against Jadeite in June, became Japan’s representatives at the first-ever VCT Ascension Pacific event. Despite reaching the finals, the Japanese-Russian combine fell just short of their objective—to secure a two-year promotion into the VCT Pacific League—losing to Singapore powerhouse Bleed Esports.
Further information regarding the structure and specific details of the circuit will be revealed in the coming months.
