Eight teams are left to battle for a sought-after temporary berth in the upcoming VCT CN League via the Ascension pathway.
CHINA – VCT Ascension CN is set to begin December 23, with eight top non-partnered CN teams slated to do battle in Shanghai. The event, which runs through December 30, will reward the winning team with a two-year temporary promotion into the VCT CN League for the 2024 and 2025 seasons.
The competition kicks off with two GSL groups featuring best-of-three matches, from which the top two teams from each group will advance to the playoffs. The ensuing bracket will follow a best-of-three, double-elimination structure starting on December 27, working its way up to a best-of-five grand final on December 30.

Rare Atom will find themselves the overwhelming favorites to secure a two-year promotion into the tier-one CN league as they are comfortably the highest-ranked team in attendance, having finished the China Evolution Series circuit in second place with 1095 points, trialing only behind EDward Gaming.
Attacking Soul Esports are behind by a considerably wide margin in the fifth position, amassing 525 points, while Dragon Ranger Gaming secures the eighth position with 300 points.
Three teams from the lower segment of the circuit rankings—Ninjas in Pyjamas, Night Wings Gaming, and KeepBest Gaming—will be grouped alongside the heavy favorites Rare Atom in Group A. The other group will consist of Dragon Ranger Gaming, 17 Gaming, Four Angry Men, and KeepBest Gaming.
