SINGAPORE – In celebrating the Year of the Dragon in the 2023 Lunar New Year, VALORANT is introducing a new skin bundle named ‘XERØFANG.’ Set to launch on February 7, the bundle is priced at 6,355 VP, while the melee alone can be purchased for 4,350 VP.
Referred to as the Spring Festival (春節) or commonly known as Chinese New Year, this celebration marks the beginning of the year according to the traditional lunar calendar. Historically, the dragon holds great significance as a symbol of strength and power, and it is further associated with qualities such as good fortune, wisdom, success, protection, and masculinity.
The ‘XERØFANG’ weapons will have a dragon logo engraved on the exterior body, while the player card, gun buddy, and finisher all feature a more literal representation of the dragon.

In a press release, Kerwin Atienza, Senior Manager of Art Direction at Riot Games, shared that they adopted a different approach for this year’s Lunar New Year celebration in contrast to VALORANT’s past lunar new year skinlines (Ox, Tiger, Rabbit).
Unlike the traditional design focus of previous years, the team intentionally pursued a different direction. “For the year of the dragon celebration we wanted to go the opposite direction and have something more modern and futuristic that we believe will resonate with our core audience.”
When asked about concepts or inspiration that Riot Games wanted to convey with XERØFANG, Kerwin added that futuristic concept cars as their primary source of inspiration. “Those have a sleek design with a good flow of lines and shape. The moving ‘scales’ provide a tactile and responsive feeling to the weapons. They also contribute to making the weapons feel very advanced and ahead of their time.”
