VCT CN Stage 1 starts on Friday, April 5 with the first two matches of the group stage.
CHINA – Riot Games has unveiled the group stage matchups for VCT CN Stage 1, set to take place starting on April 5.
During Stage 1, teams will be randomly divided into two groups: five teams in group Alpha and six teams in group Omega. Alpha teams are set to compete against Omega teams in a single round-robin, best-of-three series. The top three teams from each group will progress to the Playoffs. Given only three qualifying slots to VALORANT Masters Shanghai available, teams will play in a double-elimination bracket to secure their position as the CN representatives at their home soil’s first international event.
Furthermore, teams will gain a Championship Point for every match won, and the winning team in Stage 1 will gain an extra three Championship Points. These accumulated points will contribute to their qualification for Champions 2024 at the end of the season. As things stand, EDward Gaming hold three points from their victory at VCT CN KICKOFF.
VCT CN Stage 1 will begin on April 5 and will run until May 12. The tournament is structured in two stages:
- Group stage: 5 April – 5 May
- Playoffs: 8 May – 12 May
The 2024 VCT CN season is set to unfold at the same venue that hosted the KICKOFF event, situated near the Huangpu River in Shanghai with a capacity of 400 seaters. Eric Feng, Director of TJ Sports and Head of VALORANT Esports, revealed in a VCT CN pre-event press conference that the venue was built in just 50 working days to be ready for use ahead of the KICKOFF event.
Furthermore, details regarding the matchups for Stage 2 will be revealed at a later date.
