With VCT Ascension Pacific about to start, we picked out another five players that you should keep an eye on.
INDONESIA – With just under a week to go until the VCT Ascension Pacific 2024 event, one team will come out on top and earn a place in next year’s tier-one VCT Pacific League.
Of these ten teams, we have identified ten standout players to keep an eye on in Jakarta. Their performances in recent months have impressed both teammates and rivals, and they could be the game-changers needed at this all-important event.
Here are some names that you should be watching out for as the event is about to start:

Oblivion Force – Challengers TW/HK
- Player to Watch: YRSelect (Uta)
- Honorable Mention: coconut
The non-backed Oblivion Force squad will be representing the TW/HK region over ONE Team Esports, and Wong “YRSelect” Tsz-ting is the player to keep an eye on.
Individually, YRSelect delivered the standout performance among all active players in the recent Challengers TW/HK Split 2 tournament and brings the most experience to the team. His 1.26 VLR rating over the past three months has been a key factor in OF’s strong showing, so it would not be surprising to see him pop off and do some damage in Jakarta.
Revenant Esports – Challengers South Asia
- Player to Watch: dos9
- Honorable Mention: SkRossi
Kazakhstan isn’t typically known for being a VALORANT powerhouse, but Revenant Esports struck gold with a hidden gem just in time for their Ascension journey. 20-year-old Dastan “dos9” Zhumagali has been dominating the South Asian circuit since joining earlier this year, and the addition of fellow Kazakhstani Sultan “sultan” Akbay has only boosted their firepower.
After the Challengers South Asia Split 2 grand finals, dos9 summed it up with just one word: “Easy.” But the Ascension event will bring a whole new set of challenges, with tougher opponents and an international LAN setting that’s a whole different ball game. We’ll see if he gets the chance to say it again in Ascension Pacific Jakarta.
Meanwhile, Indian VALORANT icon Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar is eyeing a return to tier-one after parting ways with Global Esports last year. Could we see him back in action in Seoul next year?
Rapid Lofi – Challengers Vietnam
- Player to Watch: Suka
- Honorable Mention: Daft
For Rapid Lofi, this is one of the biggest opportunities of their career so far. While they’re not among the favorites to take it all, this is their chance to set themselves up for some valuable practice and get comfortable in the international scene. Taking down heavy favorites Fancy United Esports in the Challengers Vietnam grand finals was no small feat, and if they keep that momentum, they could shake things up or even hit their ambitious goals—because nothing’s impossible.
Nguyễn “Suka” Văn Tiến is the most experienced player among the five, having played for teams like CERBERUS Esports, Fancy United Esports, and representing the Vietnamese squad at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
FULL SENSE – Challengers Thailand
- Player to Watch: PTC
- Honorable Mention: Leviathan
The past few years haven’t been the smoothest for Kititkawin “PTC” Rattanasukol. After moving from the Champions-qualified FULL SENSE roster to Made in Thailand—who were dominating at the time—he missed out on Ascension, denying him the chance to compete in front of his home crowd in Bangkok. Now, he’s returned to a revamped FULL SENSE lineup, featuring a mix of seasoned players and rising star Thanyathon “Leviathan” Nakmee.
As a longtime flex player with extensive in-game leading experience, PTC remains a key figure for FULL SENSE. He’s definitely the player to keep an eye on from the Thai squad.
JFT Esports – Challengers Oceania
- Player to Watch: ANDY
- Honorable Mention: murza
JFT might not ring a bell for many in the Pacific, but Andrew “ANDY” Davis is definitely someone to keep an eye on to begin with. The former Funcrew and Kingzone player was a standout performer in the Challengers Oceania Split 2 Grand Finals, topfragging across all four maps while playing ISO. Expect him to cause Rapid Lofi all sorts of problems in the opening round.
As a fresh contender from OCE, it’s a big question whether they can top Bonkers’ placement from last year and break into the top four to compete in front of a live audience.
