Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul has finally put pen to paper on a contract with the largest esports organization in Korea, T1.
SOUTH KOREA – T1 has announced the signing of Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul, bringing on the former DRX star duelist and reuniting him with his ex-teammate Kim “stax” Gu-taek. This signing follows BuZz’s unexpected departure from DRX on the first day of the transfer window when it was revealed he wouldn’t be part of their plans for the 2025 season.
BuZz, who may be taking over the duelist role from Ha “Sayaplayer” Jung-woo, brings a wealth of experience at just 21 years old. Over the past three years, he has played for Vision Strikers and DRX, making nine international appearances—eight of them alongside stax.
“The reason I chose T1 is I felt that they wanted me more than other teams. Also, I believed I could work well with the team and create great synergy. That’s why I decided on T1. Being part of T1 feels almost unreal to me since T1 has such a long history. It’s one of the esports teams I watched a lot when I was younger. The fact that I can now play for this team is something I feel proud of. And playing for such a team, I feel like I need to work even harder.”

In his appearance at VCT Pacific Stage 2, BuZz helped DRX exceed expectations by executing an insane reverse sweep against Paper Rex before falling to Gen.G in the grand finals. At Champions Seoul, DRX finished in 5th-6th place, securing victories over KRU Esports, FNATIC, and Trace Esports, though they ultimately couldn’t overcome EMEA giants Team Heretics.
With BuZz joining the roster, T1 are looking to kick off a new chapter and emerge as Korea’s leading team in the 2025 Pacific League, aiming to outshine their three domestic rivals Gen.G, DRX, and Sin Prisa Gaming while securing spots in the international events in Bangkok, Toronto, and Paris.
T1 have two tournaments lined up in the next one month, starting with the Red Bull Home Ground APAC Play-In in Tokyo, Japan. Following that, they’ll return back to Korea and compete in the GES Asia 2024 event in Gwangju on November 2-3, where they’ll face off against Gen.G, EDward Gaming, and Trace Esports.
T1 now boast the following roster:
