ban will no longer be competing under the Global Esports banner heading into 2026.
SOUTH KOREA – Global Esports have parted ways with Joseph “ban” Oh, bringing an end to the 25-year-old’s six-month run with the team.
His departure comes as Global Esports continue rebuilding for the 2026 season, a process that has already involved experimenting with new coaching and player combinations and working closely with coach Hector “FrosT” Rosario, Kale “autumn” Dunne, and Xavier “xavi8k” Juan.
ban joined Global Esports after his time with TALON, which shifted to an all-Thai lineup. He competed only in VCT Pacific Stage 2, taking on flexible roles across the board. The team finished the stage with a disappointing 1-5 record, their lone win coming unexpectedly against Stage 1 champions RRQ before falling to Team Secret, Gen.G, Nongshim RedForce, and DRX. Individually, ban averaged a 0.95 VLR rating and 205.8 ACS across 241 rounds.

Looking ahead, Global Esports have yet to reveal their finalized starting five. With 2026 being the final year of the first partnership cycle, the organization is under pressure to deliver a more competitive showing. Their goal will be to rebuild a roster capable of finally breaking into the Pacific playoffs, a milestone that has eluded them since joining the league.
In GE-related updates, head coach Donnie “Elevated” Chell has also departed the team. Elevated’s time with the organization involved significant upsand downs, as he was promoted from assistant coach to head coach mid-season following the removal of Preston “Juv3nile” Dornon.
