Lakia returns to Gen.G for the 2026 VCT season.
SOUTH KOREA – Gen.G have confirmed that Kim “Lakia” Jong-min will be returning to the team for the 2026 VCT season.
Although the organization already renewed his contract in August 2025, the latest announcement suggests he may be stepping into a starting role to fill in the void left by the departure of Byeon “Munchkin” Sang-beom.
Gen.G have yet to announce their full 2026 roster. The only recent update on the player side is the addition of Kim “ZynX” Dong-ha for the 2025 SOOP VALORANT League, though this announcement did not specify his status for the upcoming VCT season.

Lakia’s first stint with Gen.G produced one of the most dominant runs in Pacific VALORANT history. He helped lead the team to titles at Kickoff, Stage 2, and Masters Shanghai, along with runner-up finishes at Stage 1 and Masters Madrid. Their 2024 campaign delivered the Pacific region’s first international VALORANT trophy. Even though the team finished Champions Seoul in 9th-12th place, the season as a whole remained a milestone achievement.
Lakia parted ways with the organization in October 2024 to recover from a long-term wrist injury. By June 2025, he resurfaced with an LFT post, saying he had fully healed and was ready to return.
He rejoined Gen.G later in this 2025 season, but the team played only two matches before being eliminated, and he didn’t see any playtime during that brief stretch.
Gen.G currently have:
- 🇰🇷 Kim “t3xture” Na-ra
- 🇰🇷 Kim “Karon” Won-tae
