Alter Ego claimed the second and final spot for Indonesia at the 2025 APAC Predator League.
INDONESIA – Alter Ego have become the second team from Indonesia to qualify for the 2025 APAC Predator League, joining BOOM Esports in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from January 11-13, 2025. They earned their international debut with a 2-1 victory over Bigetron Arctic in the semi-finals of the Predator League Indonesia Finals (Sunset 14-12, Split 8-13, Haven 13-7).
But the action doesn’t end there, as Alter Ego will face BOOM Esports tomorrow in the grand finals of Predator Indonesia. This will also be a rematch of the Challengers Indonesia Split 2 Finals, where BOOM secured the trophy in a dramatic, back-and-forth series.
Alter Ego showed plenty of promise last season, securing the 2023 Red Bull Campus Clutch and winning Challengers Indonesia Split 1, consistently positioning themselves as one of Indonesia’s top teams, though often overshadowed by BOOM Esports. However, the team has undergone some changes since then, including the departure of Bryan “Kush” Setiawan to RRQ and the return of Alehandro “Nakya” Simanjorang from his loan with SG/MY-based Elevate.

In the deciding match to qualify for Kuala Lumpur, Alter Ego faced Bigetron Arctic for the third time in the past month, having previously played them twice in the Final Qualifier.
The first map, Sunset, was an intense back-and-forth that went into overtime, but Alter Ego managed to pull ahead, stealing Bigetron Arctic’s map pick with a 14-12 win. Bigetron Arctic quickly responded by taking Alter Ego’s pick on Split, securing an 8-13 victory. With everything on the line, the final map, Haven, saw Alter Ego take control early, dominating the first half with a commanding 10-2 lead. Although Bigetron Arctic fought hard to turn things around during their offense, Alter Ego held strong, closing out the map with a 13-8 win and ultimately securing the series to qualify for the 2025 APAC Predator League.
In an interview with VALO2ASIA, coach Nanda “asteriskk” Rizana mentioned that Alter Ego are looking forward to facing some names, including the newly revamped DSG roster, which now features former Bleed Esports players Derrick “Deryeon” Yee and Ngô “crazyguy” Công Anh.
