Nova Esports have a finalized roster heading into the tier-one Chinese VALORANT league.
CHINA – Nova Esports have revealed their finalized roster for the inaugural VCT CN season, which is set to begin on February 22 in Shanghai.
The team’s confirmed lineup includes the existing four members, along with two new additions. Guang “GuanG” Honglin, formerly of Royal Never Give Up in China Evolution Series Act 2 and 3, joins as the new sentinel player, while Vsevolod “neveR” Suslov, a Russian import and champion of VCL MENA Resilience Levant and North Africa Split 1 and 2 with Team RA’AD, takes on the role of duelist. However, neveR was not an especially strong fragger in RA’AD, being their lowest-rated player in the two aforementioned competition.
Since emerging onto the scene in early 2023, Nova Esports have struggled to contend against the region’s upper echelons, finishing the FGC VALORANT Invitational and China Evolution Series without reaching any main event. Their pursuit of VALORANT Champions LA qualification saw them finish near the bottom of the rankings. With only minor adjustments to their underwhelming roster, many do not see NOVA VALORANT as a championship-caliber roster as they approach the all-important VCT CN League.

Nova Esports, under the ownership of Hong Kong-listed company Imperium Group Global Holdings Limited, is best known for its remarkable achievements in Peacekeeper Elite (PUBG Mobile). The team secured the title of world champions twice, triumphing in PMGC 2020 and 2021. Beyond PUBG Mobile, Nova Esports extends its presence by fielding competitive teams in a diverse array of titles, including Call of Duty Mobile, Game for Peace, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and FIFA, among others.
With relatively unfamiliar names representing the Nova Esports banner, it remains to be seen whether the team will be able to compete against some of China’s top contenders in Shanghai.
