RRQ are the final team to accept an invitation to the Red Bull Home Ground APAC Play-In in Tokyo, Japan.
JAPAN – Rex Regum Qeon (RRQ) are the last team invited to the Red Bull Home Ground APAC Play-In, the tournament organizer has announced.
They become the fifth team confirmed to participate in the event scheduled for October 19-20 in Tokyo, Japan. The last spot will go to the winner of the JP Qualifier, which will be decided next Wednesday, October 9, bringing the total number of teams to six.
Red Bull had earlier announced invitations for ZETA DIVISION, DetonatioN FocusMe, T1, and Talon Esports, where the first three teams are anticipated to debut their new 2025 lineups. The two Japanese teams may appear quite different by the time the Red Bull Home Ground APAC Play-In takes place, as they are currently going through a massive roster overhaul.

ZETA DIVISION have been reduced to two players after benching their young talents, Hiroki “hiroronn” Yanai and Yushin “Yuran” Hato, and following the retirement of Koji “Laz” Ushida. On the other hand, DetonatioN FocusMe are set to build a new roster centered around Ibuki “Meiy” Seki, whose contract was recently extended until 2027. Meanwhile, T1’s CEO has indicated that the team plans to revert to a fully Korean lineup next year.
Meanwhile, Indonesia-based RRQ still have one open position after allowing Hagai “Lmemore” Tewuh to explore other options as a restricted free agent. It’s unclear who will fill this spot or if additional coaching staff will be brought on for the upcoming season.
The APAC Play-In will be held at the Ryogoku Kokugikan Arena, the same venue that hosted last year’s RBHG main event. This event will grant one team a highly sought-after spot in the eight-team main event in Berlin, Germany, where teams like FNATIC, Karmine Corp, and Cloud9 are already confirmed to participate.
The Red Bull Home Ground APAC Play-In team list looks as follows:
ZETA DIVISION | T1 |
DetonatioN FocusMe | Talon Esports |
Rex Regum Qeon | Japanese Qualifier [TBD] |
