The MongolZ, best known for its Major-qualifying roster in Counter-Strike, has entered VALORANT with the signing of Imperials.
MONGOLIA – The MongolZ has officially announced their entry into VALORANT, signing an all-Mongolian lineup formerly under the banner of Imperials, who recently earned a spot in the Challengers TW/HK Promotion Stage.
Assembled in the latter half of last year, Imperials primarily competed in the circuit organized by the Mongolian Esports Association (MESA) where they recently clinched victory in the MVT Stage 2 Winter held on LAN in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. That victory also qualified them for the Stage 2 Finals, set to take place next week on March 13.
With a legacy dating back to 2015, The MongolZ is celebrated for its Counter-Strike roster and holds a prominent status in the Mongolian esports community, having qualified for a range of APAC RMR and global tournaments, with appearances in events such as IEM Cologne 2023, BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, and IEM Katowice 2024. Expanding beyond Valve’s FPS, The MongolZ has also entered Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, recently acquiring a roster at the beginning of this year.

The MongolZ’s foray into VALORANT breathes new life into the APAC VALORANT scene, positioning itself as one of the pioneering major Mongolian organizations to step into Riot’s FPS. In recent times, Mongolian teams have risen to prominence as top APAC representatives in the highest echelons of Counter-Strike besides China, making it especially intriguing to see how their success in one FPS title will translate to another.
While the players forming The MongolZ’s VALORANT roster may be unfamiliar to the international audience, they have consistently been around in the domestic Mongolian VALORANT scene for a while and are one of the country’s best shots against international opposition.
The MongolZ are set to make their debut from April 24-26 in the VALORANT Challengers Taiwan/Hong Kong Promotion/Relegation stage to claim one of the coveted four spots in the Split 2 main event. If successful in qualifying, they will etch their names in history as the first Mongolian core to secure a spot in a Challengers main event.
