Massive W for the VCT Pacific viewers.
SOUTH KOREA – VCT Pacific has announced plans to reduce the downtime between maps this year, resulting in a shorter waiting period for viewers.
During a VCT Pacific KICKOFF Press Conference held today in South Korea, the announcement of the change was made regarding what fans can anticipate in the broadcast. Jake Sin, Head of VALORANT Esports, APAC, stated that the goal is to condense the broadcast and minimize downtime as much as possible, ensuring “that the viewers are engaged throughout.”
“One radical change that we implement this year is reducing the breaks.” Despite acknowledging that this adjustment would result in less time for players between maps, he emphasized that it would be a “major win for our broadcast and the fans.”

It was revealed that the decision to implement this change is based on data gathered throughout the previous season to enhance the viewer experience. Jake explained, “Our study showed that a large chunk of our viewers leave the broadcast when we go into a break, and some of them never come back. So our intent is to keep the broadcast as engaging as possible.”
The VCT Pacific broadcast previously would take breaks lasting from 10 to 20 minutes, as seen in various samples from last season, spanning from the end of one map to the start of the next within the server. While specific details about the reduced duration of the breaks were not provided, the focus on minimizing transitions during the broadcast is expected to enhance the viewing experience.
