The Indonesian coach is no longer in charge of Velocity Gaming, seeing him become a free agent and therefore is open to new challenges.
INDIA – Velocity Gaming announced today that they have parted ways with consultant coach Andi “Sleepy” Bangsawan under mutual agreement.
The announcement occurs days after Manoj “SENTINEL” Kasyap, owner of Velocity Gaming, revealed that Riot Games would not be moving forward with VLT’s application for the 2023 VALORANT partnership program. Sleepy has been let go from the organization and is allowed to explore opportunities with other teams, he revealed on Twitter.

“It is unfortunate we didn’t get a chance to go at it full blast, but I can say it has been an absolute pleasure working with the boys over at VLT!” Sleepy said in the announcement. “I am now LFT (looking for team) as a coach or in other related capacities,” Sleepy said in a separate statement. With no franchise slot, VLT were kind enough to let me go and explore options going into the 2023 franchise league. I understand teams will be waiting until the franchise announcement, but we can start discussing now.”
Sleepy’s tenure at Velocity Gaming started in May when he joined the team as a consultant coach, leaving behind his work as a broadcast talent. The Indonesian coach’s first and last tournament with the team, Skyesports Champions Series, saw them miss out on a spot in VCT APAC Stage 2 Challengers after losses to domestic rivals Enigma Gaming and Global Esports in the playoffs.
Despite finding limited success in the two-month tenure with Velocity Gaming, Sleepy previously coached Indonesia’s Alter Ego to a second runner-up finish in the VCT SEA Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs and a win in the TEC Challenger Series 6.
In addition to Sleepy, Nikhil “Sieh” Bhansali has stepped down from his role as Velocity Gaming analyst, the team announced today. Their departure now leaves the team without support staff as the VCT off-season approaches.
