The 24-year-old Malaysian Chong “Fayde” Hoc Wah has been appointed as the coach of Team Secret, the organization has revealed.
MALAYSIA — The news immediately follows the departure of Chong “Fayde” Hoc Wah from BOOM Esports, who had stood behind the Indonesian squad for a brief spell. The Malaysian coach comes in to fill the vacant spot left after the departure of Gilbert “Gibo” Sales Jr. in the first week of this year.
This will be Fayde’s third stint standing behind a team, having previously led Singapore’s Team SMG for nine months in 2021 and joined BOOM Esports for a brief period of two weeks as an analyst this month.

Team Secret have been on a recent upward trajectory in 2021 after making deep runs at VALORANT Champions. Other than changes within the coaching staff, Jayvee “DubsteP” Paguirigan and co. have brought former DR Esports player Jeremy “Jremy” Cabrera on board, increasing the roster size to six players for the first time.
Fayde’s first major task as Team Secret’s coach will be to prepare the squad for their forthcoming debut at VCT Philippines Stage 1 Challengers, which takes place from February 10-27. Team Secret and Zeal Esports are the two invited teams for the main event battling for three berths in the VCT APAC Challengers Playoffs.
With Fayde’s addition, Team Secret’s roster now looks as follows:
