With the conclusion of the upper brackets of the group stage, a random draw has decided the first-round matches of the VCT Masters Copenhagen playoff bracket.
DENMARK – The first-round matches for the VCT Masters Copenhagen Playoffs have been drawn, seeing the four top-seeded teams paired up against the four teams who advanced from the group stage. The first day of the playoffs is packed with action as two best-of-three matches will take place starting at 11 PM SGT.
We could witness a familiar matchup in the opening round between XSET and OpTic if the Reykjavik champions win their decider versus KRÜ Esports. Leviatán will lock horns with Korea’s DRX, while Jake “Boaster” Howlett’s Fnatic will tackle the winner of FunPlus Phoenix and NORTHEPTION. The last eight-stage will also feature an interesting matchup between Paper Rex and Guild Esports.
The eight teams will duke it out starting this Thursday in the best-of-three, double-elimination bracket. The final three days of the event, from July 22–24, will take place in front of a large audience in Copenhagen, Denmark. The venue matches are as follows:
- Friday, July 22 – Upper Bracket Final & Lower Bracket Semifinal
- Saturday, July 23 – Lower Bracket Final
- Sunday, July 24 – Grand Finals
This will be the first time a Masters-level tournament is hosted in a venue in front of a live audience. The last three days will be played in the 10,000-capacity Forum Copenhagen.
