The Esports Club has announced the return of the TEC Challenger Series, with a total purse of INR 15 lakhs (~US$18,000).
SOUTH ASIA – The Esports Club has announced the return of its staple VALORANT competition in the 2023 OFF//SEASON, known as the TEC Challenger Series. It is set to take place from September 28 to October 12.
The event will have 16 teams in attendance, eight of whom will secure their spots through invitations while the remaining four spots will be determined through an Open Qualifier. Teams are able to read further details about the registration process and rules of the online tournament through TEC’s website and sign up there.
The round-robin qualifier will take place from September 28 to October 1, with participation limited to players who reside in South Asia. Should any members of a team be discovered competing from outside the South Asia Region, the entire team will face immediate disqualification, as stated on the event organizer’s page.
As previously mentioned, the top four participants from the Open Qualifier will then secure passage to the group stage on October 4-8, where eight unannounced teams await. Only four teams from the group stage will be able to advance to the double-elimination playoffs, taking place on October 9-12.
Below you can find the INR15,00,000 prize money distribution for the top-four placings:
- 1st Place: INR 7,00,000
- 2nd Place: INR 5,00,000
- 3rd Place: INR 2,00,000
- 4th Place: INR 1,00,000
