Suggest will make his return to competition with Gen.G after a year-long hiatus following his time with the original iteration of DFM, a team that failed to secure a single series win in 2023.
SOUTH KOREA – Gen.G have announced the signing of former DetonatioN FocusMe and NUTURN player Seo “Suggest” Jae-young.
22-year-old Suggest has joined Gen.G alongside Ha “Ash” Hyun-cheol, who has been promoted from the organization’s academy roster, bringing the total roster size to six players. Ash has impressed recently as a duelist/initiator during his time in Gen.G Global Academy and has earned himself a spot on the main roster after stints with OP.GG Sports, Incheon On Sla2ers, LFG Portal, and FearX.
“I am Suggest and I have joined Gen.G VALORANT team this season. I will show our fans both fun and skills with great results. Thank you,” Suggest said in the announcement video.

Suggest is best known for two periods in his career. His early days saw him as part of the PROPARTY/NUTURN squad, where he, alongside Kang “solo” Keun-chul and Jung “peri” Beom-gi, qualified for VALORANT’s first international tournament in Reykjavík four years ago, finishing in third place. Now, he reunites with his former NUTURN teammates, as both solo and peri are part of Gen.G’s coaching staff.
After his time with NUTURN, Suggest moved to Japan to join DetonatioN FocusMe (then known as DetonatioN Gaming) before the partnership era. His first year in VALORANT Challengers Japan saw limited success, but he remained with the team when they were selected as one of the VCT Pacific partnered organizations.
However, during his time with the newly partnered DetonatioN FocusMe, Suggest and the team failed to secure a single series win throughout the entire year, finishing 0-11. Their only map wins came against Gen.G and T1 in the Regular Season of VCT Pacific 2023. Since then, Suggest has not competed in any official matches recorded by VLR.gg since the Korean player was let go from DFM.

Gen.G’s additions of Suggest and Ash come at a time when domestic competition is fiercer than ever. DRX recently claimed the VCT Pacific Kickoff title, while T1 lifted the trophy at VCT Masters Bangkok. Meanwhile, Nongshim RedForce, despite being an Ascension team, has shown impressive firepower and potential.
Gen.G’s final starting five remains to be confirmed to the public as they are just days away from facing Ascension squad BOOM Esports in their VCT Pacific Stage 1 debut on Monday, March 24, at 16:00 GMT+8 (Singapore time).
