Indonesia will be battling it out for a share of the US$25,000 prize pool, as well as a clear path to VCT Stage 1 – Masters.
Riot Games, in collaboration with its partner organizer OneUp, has announced the format of VCT Stage 1 for Indonesia. Following a successful debut season of the VALORANT Championship Tour in Indonesia, the developer is doubling down in the region with a US$25,000 prize pool boost for Stage 1 and a format tweak.
The qualifying process for the first VCT Indonesia tournament of 2022 will kick off on January 20 and run for three days, featuring two phases. The first phase of the open qualifiers will play out using a best-of-three (BO3), single-elimination bracket, leading to the phase two. The 32 best will proceed further into a Swiss closed stage, from which only the top thirteen move on to the main event, where they will be joined by three invited teams.
The main event of VCT Indonesia Stage 1 Challengers will take place starting on February 11. Sixteen teams will be split into four GSL groups, the top two of which will secure their berth in the double-elimination playoffs. There, the three best will qualify directly for the VCT Stage 1 – APAC Challengers Playoffs.
Registration for VCT Indonesia Stage 1 Challengers will commence on January 3-15. Additional information about the registration process and rules of the tournament can be found on OneUp’s website.
