ExiledEwok has joined ONIC G as acoach after working with the team for a few weeks, the Indonesian organization has announced.
INDONESIA — ONIC G have been on a recent upward trend and is presently ranked in VLR’s top 10 APAC rankings. The Michael “SEVERiNE” Winata-led side most recently qualified for VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers after defeating BOOM Esports 2-1 in the upper bracket semi-finals.
ExiledEwok has been a regular presence in the South African VALORANT scene and recently collaborated with Aimlab in November last year to coach a number of American College and high school VALORANT teams. The South African coach also previously worked with Ganesh “SkRossi” Gangadhar’s Global Esports on a tryout basis for a brief period that ended in early February, only three weeks before officially putting pen to paper on a contract with ONIC G.

“The team has been looking really good in practice, but we are still expanding our map pool, considering I have only had very little actual practice time with the boys. We are happy that we qualified for APAC but extremely disappointed with the way we performed in the upper and lower finals.
We know that we can qualify for Iceland Masters; we just need to be playing in officials how we have been playing in practice. The team has a lot of potential, but given how short I have had with the team so far, it will be difficult to expect the world in such a short time. I will need time and patience from the team and organization to deliver the results that we know we can achieve.” ExiledEwok said in a statement to VALO2ASIA.
The squad will continue to communicate in their native Bahasa Indonesia, with coach input provided in English.
The baptism of fire for ExiledEwok will continue, as ONIC G are set to play at the upcoming VCT APAC Stage 1 Challengers, which takes place from March 10-27 and will feature 20 of Asia-Pacific’s upper-echelon teams to fight for two coveted spots at VCT Masters 1.
With the addition of ExiledEwok, ONIC G’s roster now looks as follows:
