Japanese powerhouse DetonatioN Gaming will incorporate the FocusMe branding into all teams under its umbrella.
JAPAN – DetonatioN Gaming and Team GAMEWITH have officially merged under the DetonatioN FocusMe label. The rebrand also includes a new logo, jersey, and color scheme, and was inspired by the team’s accumulated history, achievements, and popularity within the domestic and international League of Legends scene, with the FocusMe branding now affixed to the official name for all divisions.
The two organizations following the acquisition of DetonatioN Gaming by Japanese gaming media GameWith, Inc., the parent company of Team GAMEWITH. “We believe that we can create synergies that will lead to the expansion of the domestic esports market by combining the know-how behind the strengths of DetonatioN with our know-how in information media, video streaming, and event organization,” said Takuya Imaizumi, Representative and President of GameWith in the press release.

“DetonatioN is one of the very few esports teams established in Japan that has made achievements internationally and thus is among the best in the domestic esports market. It is this belief that drove the acquisition. We will support DetonatioN in their endeavors and expand the domestic esports market and our business in the esports sector through this merger.”
Based in Nagoya, DetonatioN Gaming was founded in July 2012 as a Counter-Strike Online team. Fast forward, it has become of of the largest and most recognizable esports organizations in Japan by competing in various titles including League of Legends, VALORANT, eFootball, Apex Legends, Street Fighter, PUBG Mobile, VALORANT, and others.
DetonatioN FocusMe’s name and logo reflect this merger, designed to retain the reputation and visual identity each company has built by inheriting the well-known DetonatioN logo design with the addition of the DFM tag in the middle. The colorway is now a blend of DetonatioN Gaming’s sky blue and the light green of TEAM GAMEWITH, creating a deeper blue than before.

DetonatioN FocusMe VALORANT will be rocking their new style soon as they are slated to debut at the Riot Games ONE Pro Invitational in Yokohama, Japan. Following that, VCT 2023 awaits them as one of the selected ten partnered organizations to compete in the premier VCT Pacific league.
