PUBG world champion Esther transitions to VALORANT; joins ENTER FORCE.36

The 27-year-old will be turning his focus to Riot Games-developed FPS over PUBG.

SOUTH KOREA – ENTER FORCE.36 have announced that Go “Esther” Jeong-won has officially signed with their VALORANT roster. With that, the team are now on the lookout for two more players to round out their lineup.

A name that is recognized worldwide and a long-time member of the Korean PUBG scene, Esther had become synonymous with his time in Gen.G for almost four years, where he racked up an impressive trophy haul.

He had been tied to the organization since it was still known as KSV eSports, most notably helping the Korean powerhouse win the US$4,000,000 PUBG Global Championship in 2019. Among his top achievements as a support player include winning AfreecaTV PUBG League Season 1, PUBG Korea League 2019 Phase 2, and MET Asia Series PUBG Classic.

After being released from Gen.G’s active roster at the end of 2019, Esther transitioned as the organization’s PUBG streamer before announcing his retirement seven months later. Not long after, he came out of his PUBG retirement to return to the server with Gen.G once again in January 2021. A tenth place at the PUBG Global Championship 2021 was Esther’s final tournament before closing out his PUBG career alongside Cha “Pio” Seung-hoon.

This move makes him teammates again with Jeong “Jinx” Hong-kyo, with whom he previously played on mix-team moniker FA that competed in several domestic VALORANT tournaments during his short retirement two years ago. Besides the duo, Son “xeta” Seon-ho, Kim “Lakia” Jong-min, and Kim “zunba” Joon-hyuk were part of the lineup. It remains unknown what role Esther will play in the Japanese-Korean team, but looking at his time in FA, Cypher was the agent he picked in all nine maps played.

As made clear on their team page, ENTER FORCE.36 have their sights set on success in the upcoming VALORANT Champions Tour 2023. Like many teams, E36 currently have no events scheduled for the remainder of the year as the off-season approaches, with only a few more invited tournaments set to take place to round out the greater-APAC calendar.

With the addition of Esther, ENTER FORCE.36 currently are:

  • 🇰🇷 Jeong “Jinx” Hong-kyo
  • 🇰🇷 Go “Esther” Jeong-wan
  • 🇯🇵 “MerRy“
