The Sentinel player’s departure sees Oasis Gaming return to a five-man roster for now.
PHILIPPINES – Oasis Gaming have announced the departure of Nathaniel “Nexi” Cabero, bringing his chapter with the organization to a close six months after his arrival. The next move for the Filipino sentinel remains undisclosed, but further details are anticipated to be released in the near future.
“Let’s all bid farewell to the humble beast of Oasis and our unmovable sentinel, Nexi. We will miss your crispy sheriff headshots and miracle clutches! May the roads of Oasis guide you to your next destination,” the announcement reads.
After being part of Rex Regum Qeon in its pre-partnership phase during the 2022 season, the 22-year-old made a switch to Oasis Gaming in January. His efforts were crucial in leading Oasis Gaming to achieve runners-up positions in both VCL Philippines Split 1 and 2. During the latter, Nexi stood out by achieving a tournament-high VLR rating of 1.24 throughout 456 rounds, particularly in a match against GameLab Alpha, where he scored 32 kills on Ascent playing as Killjoy, contributing to OASIS’s 14-12 victory.
Moreover, Nexi had the honor of representing the Philippines in the VALORANT tournament at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games under the banner of Team SIBOL. The team started strong, emerging as favorites by sweeping through the group stage with undefeated victories against all five opposing teams.
Despite this promising run, their journey ended in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, where they secured the position of second runners-up after being finally overcome by Indonesia in a thrilling semi-final match, avenging a previous defeat.
With the departure of Nexi, Oasis Gaming now have a five-player roster. However, it remains unknown whether they will maintain this configuration or seek to bring in a new player, as the team has yet to disclose their future plans.
Oasis Gaming are now:
- 🇵🇭 Brheyanne “Wild0reoo” Christ Reyes
- 🇵🇭 Xavier “xavi8k” Juan
- 🇵🇭 Jed “Drax” Jamir
- 🇵🇭 George “Georggyyy” Lachica
- 🇵🇭 Mark “Markyyy” Tuling
- 🇵🇭 Jose “Rbtx” Carlo Jamir (Head coach)
