Here’s how the voting system works for The VALO2ASIA Awards 2024, brought to you by Corsair.
25 Judges will cast their votes to determine the ‘Top 20 APAC Players of the Year’. The 20 selected players will each receive a special medal and its box, featuring their names engraved on the medal, highlighting their category win along with the names of the Panel of Judges. The community will act as the 25th judge, with every vote you cast contributing to a collective voice that counts as one crucial public vote in the final rankings.
To streamline the selection process, we’ve provided the judging panel with a pre-arranged spreadsheet of potential nominees. While judges can nominate players not listed, we generally advise against it, as these choices are less likely to meet the nomination criteria—something we’ll explain further in this document.
The collected votes will be used to compile the 2024 VALO2ASIA Awards – Top 20 APAC Players of the Year. You’re also welcome to share comments about specific players, which we can feature on our website and socials.
To create a secure and unbiased voting environment, all individual votes will be anonymized in the complete scoring summary.
How judges make their choices:
- The top 20 list is entirely based on players’ contributions on the server over the course of VCT 2024, and not based solely on their Average Combat Score (ACS). It doesn’t take into consideration any external factors that may or may not have affected their performance.
- Our judges will be provided with a lengthy list of players selected from results across the APAC (Pacific and CN) region and given one basic question: who were the greatest APAC players in 2024?
- VCT Pacific 2024
- VCT CN 2024
- VALORANT Masters Madrid
- VALORANT Masters Shanghai
- VALORANT Champions Seoul
- We ask our judges to choose 20 names each and rank their selection in order from 1-20, No 1 being their choice of the best player.
How the voting works
- The No 1 choice of each judge receives 20pts, No. 2 gets 19, down to 1pt for their No 20. The total number of votes will be combined together to get a raw score.
- To qualify for the list, a player needs to collect votes from at least five (5) judges.
- Tiebreaker(s)
- If players are tied on points in the scoring, the number of individual votes (judges) cast is used as a tie-breaker.
- The median ranking from all judges will be used as the second tiebreaker. The median is determined by arranging the player’s scores in ascending order and finding the middle value. If there’s an even number of scores, the median is the average of the two middle numbers. The player with the higher median ranking will take precedence in the event of a tie.
- The number of individual votes (public) cast is used as a third tie-breaker.
