All three major regions will close their VCT 2023 pre-season transfer window today, although not all at the same time.
SINGAPORE – The pre-season transfer window for VCT 2023 has officially come to a close for the Pacific region, with teams now locking in their competitive rosters until the next transfer window opens in mid-March after VCT LOCK//IN concludes. Cut-off times vary, as teams in the EMEA and Americas will have their deadline at 5 PM CET (GMT +1) and 5 PM PST (GMT -8), respectively.
The transfer window provided teams with an opportunity to make changes to their lineups, bring in new talent, and shape their rosters for the next split. Several major deals took place throughout the pre-season transfer window, with organizations making bold moves to improve their chances in the circuit. The next transfer window will occur on March 6 and end on March 25 – a day before the three international leagues commence.
A player who gets released from a roster during the season but not during the mid-season transfer window can sign with another team for 14 days after being released. Such period shall be referred to as a Post-Release Safe Harbor, together with the Transfer Window Safe Harbor. During this time, the team that released the player can’t sign any free agents. But after the next pre-season transfer window, they can use the Post-Release Safe Harbor to sign free agents again.
