The first-round matchups of the upcoming VCT Game Changers Global Championship São Paulo have been drawn.
BRAZIL – Riot Games has revealed the opening matchups and the full schedule for the upcoming VCT Game Changers Global Championship in São Paulo. The second international Game Changers competition will take place at the CBLOL Arena and feature eight top teams who will duke it out for the lion’s share of a US$500,000 prize pool.
“As the world unites in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to celebrate the spirit of esports and the undying passion within every VALORANT player, we invite you to join us in igniting your own competitive spark. This championship isn’t just about gaming; it’s about the journey, the unforgettable moments, and the stories of champions that will inspire generations to come. Be part of this thrilling adventure, and witness the crowning of the 2023 VALORANT Game Changers World Champion.”
VCT Game Changers Global Championship will feature a double-elimination format with best-of-three matches through the opening rounds. Teams from the same regional qualifiers will be placed on opposite sides of the bracket, ensuring diverse international matchups. The championship will culminate in its most intense phase with the Lower Final and Grand Final, both of which will be conducted in a best-of-five format, and the team coming from the upper bracket into the grand final will carry a two-map ban advantage.

The reigning GC champions, G2 Gozen, will begin their quest for back-to-back silverware with an opening bout versus Natália “daiki” Vilela’s Team Liquid Brazil. A heavyweight clash between Team SMG and NA’s Evil Geniuses GC will come next, setting up the first-ever international matchups for all 10 players.
The spirit within the Team SMG camp could not be higher, underpinned by a winning streak that is not only impressive but also unmatched—a 34-match string of victories stretching back to early this year. Meanwhile, EG will not be coming to Brazil with the same starting five that brought them a win in the recent VCT Game Changers North America Series 3, as their star player keenc was released a month ago due to inappropriate behavior. Nora will fill in the void instead.
The bracket has also paired KRÜ Blaze and BBL Queens for the first matchup of the second day, while Chao Hui EDG, meanwhile, will lock horns with Shopify Rebellion (previously Version1) in a match that will conclude the quarter-final stage of the competition.
