The stakes are higher now than they ever were before: a coveted VALORANT Champions berth.
INDONESIA – ONIC G have advanced to the grand final of the VCT APAC Last Chance Qualifier after claiming a 2-1 victory over Bleed eSports, struggling on their map pick of Ascent (10-13) before prevailing on Icebox with the same scoreline (13-10) and taking decider Haven (14-12) to win the series.
Bleed eSports capitalized on their experience in the past two VCT Stages and the addition of Jorell “Retla” Teo to make it to the top three in the LCQ, but the Singaporean squad were ultimately taken down by the homegrown talent of Indonesia’s ONIC G. With this result, the final is set to contain an all-Indonesian bout, in which the Michael “SEVERiNE” Winata-led side will play domestic rivals BOOM Esports in a best-of-five series.

The match will take the spotlight as the VALORANT Champions Tour APAC circuit’s first-ever Indonesian derby grand finals. Regardless of tomorrow’s outcomes, an all-Indonesian squad will secure the coveted VALORANT Champions berth, joining Paper Rex duo Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto and Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s departure gate to Istanbul, Turkey, next month.
From a different angle, it is the ideal present for Indonesia, which will commemorate its independence on August 17. Whoever prevails in the grand final match tomorrow will go down in history as the first-ever all-Indonesian team to have qualified for an international VALORANT tournament.
Two of these teams have a lengthy history of rivalry in the VCT Indonesia circuit, and the grand finals tomorrow will mark their eighth encounter this calendar year. However, there does not seem to be an obvious favorite, given how both teams have taken down some of the biggest tournament favorites over the past few days.
ONIC G and BOOM Esports are now set for the title bout, which will take place on Sunday at 3 PM SGT (UTC+8). Several watch parties will be held across Southeast Asia, including in Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, and the Philippines.
