TEC Challenger Series 9 is now down to its final four teams following the end of the group stage.
After six OFF//SEASON days filled with thrilling matches amongst some of APAC’s finest sides, the group stage of TEC Challenger Series 9 has come to an end, with Fancy United Esports, Bleed eSports, Velocity Gaming, and Revenant Esports making the semi-final cut.
The group stage played out in a surprising fashion, as Đinh “YESicaN” Đình Đạt’s Fancy United Esports cruised to the top spot in the standings table, prevailing over Estar Esports, Bleed eSports, Velocity Gaming, XERXIA, and Global Esports while only falling short to Alter Ego and Revenant Esports out of the seven group matchups. Similarly, Bleed eSports went 5-2 in the groups to take second place, taking care of most of the business except for the last two matchups against Fancy United Esports and Sha “ZesBeeW” Mohtar and co.

Velocity Gaming and Revenant Esports both advanced in third and fourth place, respectively, but not without some close calls. Tejas “rite2ace” Sawant and co. put up more of a fight in the latter portion of the group stage than they had in their initial games, rallying back from a winless 0-3 standings to win their remaining four games (4-3) over XERXIA, Estar Esports, Alter Ego, and Revenant Esports. Joining VLT are Indian compatriots Revenant Esports, who finished with one victory ahead of XERXIA despite having a lower round differential.
At the bottom of the league are Estar Esports, Franchise Players (Global Esports), Alter Ego, and XERXIA, who were immediately sent home. Despite fielding three stand-ins, the Thai side were not far behind, but a higher win-loss record saw Revenant Esports make the playoffs.
The single-elimination best-of-five bracket for the final four will kick off today at 4:30 PM SGT and will conclude on October 13 with the grand final during the same time. Fancy United Esports are set to lock horns with Revenant Esports today, while Bleed eSports will face Velocity Gaming the following day.
