CHINA – Attacking Soul Esports’ Zhang “hfmi0dzjc9z7” Juncheng (王浩宇) has become quite a buzz in the VALORANT community because of his unique in-game name following his team’s qualification for the upcoming VCT Masters Tokyo.
During a recent interview with VALORANT Esports China, hfmi0dzjc9z7 revealed that his name is a reflection of his life, which has been characterized by a “quirky and offbeat” nature. “[This name represents] my entire life, from childhood to now has been quite quirky and offbeat.”

hfmi0dzjc9z7 reveals that his name was intentionally created to be challenging to pronounce. In fact, he takes secret pleasure in the idea of hearing commentators struggle with his name, and he hopes that everyone can read it letter by letter.
“This name was specifically created to challenge commentators with its pronunciation. I hope everyone can read my name letter by letter. I will feel a sense of secret pleasure.”
Despite the difficulty pronouncing his name, the VALORANT community has found clever alternatives to address hfmi0dzjc9z7, such as the monikers “Alphabet Brother” (字母哥) or “hfmi”, as indicated in Attacking Soul Esports’ social media poster. To determine which name the community prefers, we conducted a poll, and it appears that “Alphabet” is the clear winner with nearly 60% of the votes.
However, while being interviewed by PentaQ瓦瓦特工队 last month, he emphasized the importance of pronouncing his in-game name letter by letter. He expressed his hope that people would pronounce it in this manner as it aligns with his original intention.
