Cloud9’s Son “xeta” Seon-ho will square off against seven of his former teammates from various teams, who are now members of Vision Strikers, in Group D’s decider match at VALORANT Champions 2021.
After six days packed full of VALORANT action, VALORANT Champions is approaching its last group stage’s elimination day, during which we will learn the final eight playoff teams. Meanwhile, five teams have already qualified for the quarter-finals, with the last three to be determined tonight.
One of the matchups to watch is between Cloud9 and Vision Strikers, which comprised of five of Son “xeta” Seon-ho’s former teammates from various teams in CS:GO and VALORANT — seven if you include two of their coaches. While glow has now moved to the coaching position and termi only coached xeta during his time in MVP.PK, we may still watch xeta square off against five of his old teammates in-game (stax, Lakia, Rb, k1Ng, and BuZz)
xeta initially shared the same banner as Kim “stax” Gu-taek and Kim “Lakia” Jong-min in Ardeont CS:GO from late 2017 to June 2018. After that period, xeta continued his career, which led him to Korea’s top-ranked squad, MVP.PK.

There, xeta met Kim “glow” Min-soo and Seon-ho “termi” Pyeon, both of whom are presently coaching Vision Strikers, as well as Goo “Rb” Sang-min and Lee “k1Ng” Seung-won. stax quickly followed suit, joining in March 2019.
During that year and a half with MVP.PK, xeta had considerable success on the international stage, including winning eXTREMESLAND ZOWIE Asia CS:GO 2018, WESG 2018 East Asia, and Cobx Masters Phase 2, as well as attending numerous major tournaments, including IEM Chicago 2018, ESL One Cologne 2019, and StarLadder Berlin Major 2019.

After his contract expired in January 2020, the Korean player joined his first non-Korean team TYLOO, who are also China’s highest-ranked squad even to this day. In his four months with TYLOO, he took part in the team’s campaign at IEM Katowice 2019 — the last S-tier tournament before the pandemic hit.

After transitioning to VALORANT in October 2020, he briefly joined Cloud9 Korea, where he met Yu “BuZz” Byung-chul. However, the squad was dismantled shortly after finishing 3rd-4th in First Strike Korea, and following Riot Games’ organization ownership policy. He subsequently transferred to NA’s Cloud9 Blue to North America.
The NA-Korean mixture team made headlines after winning the VCT North America Last Chance Qualifier, beating the likes of Version1, Gen.G, XSET, 100 Thieves, as well as Rise twice to book tickets to Berlin.
The match is slated to begin at 10:00 PM SGT (UTC+8) and will decide who will continue their run in VALORANT Champions to the playoffs and face Team Liquid in the quarter-finals.
