Orangutan have parted ways with their Game Changers roster, the organization has announced.
INDIA – Orangutan have parted ways with their Game Changers roster, OGX, following the end of their run in VCT Game Changers APAC Elite.
The India-based organization first revealed its debut in the VCT Game Changers circuit in April 2022, just before VCT Game Changers APAC Open 2. Throughout the 2022 season, Orangutan X secured spots in all the following events and notably clinched a victory against X10 Sapphire during the Overtime event, earning them a place in the season’s culminating Elite event.
Midway through the 2023 season, after securing a second-place finish in Open 1, Orangutan X decided to revamp the team, rebuilding it around Jefferlynne “Japips” Hernandez, Chloe “Chloettw” Wong, and Neha “CaspeR” Sottany. They recruited former BIGG SCYTHE member Elmarian “erumaa” Haessel, ex-Bren Esports Victress player Anrionel “Twirly” Cajanding, as well as Emily “Emi” Lauw to join the roster. However, despite their continued participation in the subsequent Opens, the team consistently missed clinching the title in the playoffs.

Orangutan X wrapped up their season by securing 5-6th place in this year’s VCT Game Changers APAC Elite. However, they competed without Emi due to her sudden departure. Stepping in for the tournament was OG’s content creator and ex-player, Swayambika “Sway” Sachar.
Over the last two seasons, OGX have also been home to a number of APAC players such as Risalma “oreopheliaa” Agnia, Ayesha “Mythica” Samman, “Kachow”, Nikaela “zini” Cruz, and Mary “capriciouS” Sabado.
It’s still uncertain whether OG intends to rejoin the Game Changers circuit next year. Historically, the OGX have maintained a consistent presence at the top tiers of GC in the region, showcasing talents from South Asia in their international lineup.
CapseR, Japips, and Twirly have indicated their desire to get back into competitive play shortly. They are open to offers, with Japips and Twirly willing to relocate if necessary.
