The Rex Regum Qeon tenure will mark Jemkin’s entry into the tier-one scene as well as his first time competing in a non-Japanese-majority lineup.
INDONESIA – Rex Regum Qeon have successfully inked a deal to onboard Maksim “Jemkin” Batorov from SCARZ. This marks the second transaction for Rex Regum Qeon in the current transfer window, having previously brought on Park “Estrella” Geon, a former player for Dplus KIA.
With the high-profile signings of Jemkin and Estrella, Rex Regum Qeon now feature the standout players from two teams that took part in the inaugural season of VCT Ascension Pacific.
Jemkin links up with Rex Regum Qeon after spending the previous two seasons on the Japanese circuit with the likes of Crest Gaming, BLUE BEES, and most recently SCARZ.
The new RRQ lineup will be counting on Jemkin to deliver a significant slice of their firepower output. When plying his trade for SCARZ, he was the team’s main star along with Russian compatriot Savva “Kr1stal” Fedorov, standing out in terms of consistency finishing all five tournaments with an impressive VLR rating higher than 1.17.
Hailed as the best player the Japanese Challengers League has to offer, Jemkin recorded one of the top ACS averages at VCT Ascension Pacific with an impressive 245.9 over 365 rounds. His most standout performance was in a match against eventual winners Bleed Esports during the group phase, where he topped the scoreboard in the final map of Lotus with 29 kills and 312 ACS despite ultimately losing in overtime.
Rumors about the Russian star intensified over the past weeks when he was noticeably absent from SCARZ’s recent scrims. His impressive performance in Bangkok left a lasting impression and likely played big a role in landing him a spot with the Jakarta-based organization.
Rex Regum Qeon will have a massive injection of firepower with the signings of Jemkin and Estrella and will look to improve from their seventh placing in the inaugural season of VCT Pacific.
